AxiCom Celebrates LGBT+ Pride Month
In keeping with our annual tradition, we proudly gave the AxiCom logo a rainbow makeover for the month of June as part of our LGBT+ Pride Month celebrations. Since the first Pride march in 1970, June has been a time to recognise the LGBT+ community’s fight for equal treatment and to celebrate the progress made toward this goal. This year, we were undeniably reminded that we do not yet live in a world free from discrimination. Though we originally planned to release this blog post at the beginning of the month, we decided to delay our release to allow the voices of the Black Lives Matter movement to be heard. We stand with them in the fight for a better world where everyone is treated equally. At AxiCom, we champion diversity and inclusion year-round, and we are committed to providing a collaborative, supportive, and respectful working environment for all. We are proud to support Pride Month as we believe that a better future is a future that is inclusive and celebrates our individuality. As AxiCom Europe’s President, Kate Stevens says, “having empathy and understanding for people’s uniqueness is key to creating a collaborative workplace.” Katie Huang-Shin, AxiCom US President, adds “Pride means many things for many people. For me, I believe organizations need to support and celebrate our team members as they are. Encourage our people to be the YOU you have always been, proudly.” This time last year, AxiCommers, alongside colleagues, friends and family, marched together in the London Pride Parade. Sadly, this year’s in-person parades were cancelled globally due to COVID-19. We are excited for their return in 2021, and we can’t wait to attend the virtual Pride celebrations taking place this year – including Global Pride, which will see organisations from around the world come together on 27 June for a 24-hour live-streamed event. While celebrations may look a little different this year, the spirit of LGBT+ Pride lives on, and we at AxiCom are proud to support it by wearing our rainbow colours this month and championing the cause all year long.
