AxiCom, WPP’s technology specialist communications agency, announced today that Lisa Sullivan is joining the company as President, Americas, effective September 12th.
Sullivan will oversee the North American business, expand the agency’s service offering and help the firm extend into new categories. She will also spearhead expansion opportunities across Central and South America.
During her 25-year career, Sullivan has built and managed the reputations of some of the world’s biggest technology brands, given Silicon Valley innovators a voice on the global stage, and sought to further the role of communications as a powerful and measurable business driver.
Most recently, she spent more than six years as Partner and Managing Director of Ketchum’s Technology Practice, building an eight-figure client portfolio spanning enterprise and consumer technology. She was also responsible for driving the agency’s “Tech+” strategy, supporting clients at the intersection of technology and the industries it empowers and disrupts, such as healthcare, transportation, financial services, retail, food and agriculture.
“With technology central to every business across every industry, Lisa’s wide-ranging expertise will be invaluable to our clients as they work to engage ever-expanding stakeholder bases,” said Matt Lackie, Global CEO, AxiCom, to whom Sullivan will report. “She is a world-class strategic counsellor, innovative thinker and brand builder, as well as a trusted team leader and talent manager. I am excited for the great counsel she will deliver for our clients, the growth opportunities she will bring to our business, and the energy and care she will bring to our people and culture.”
Prior to joining Ketchum, Sullivan served as Senior Vice President, Technology and General Manager, San Francisco at WE (formerly Waggener Edstrom), managing major global brands and venture capital-backed start-ups spanning enterprise technology, consumer electronics, automotive, mobile and health tech. She started her career in the UK, spending almost 12 years with London-headquartered Nelson Bostock Communications, ultimately rising to the role of Senior Vice President, International Business.
“I have a deep-seated professional admiration for AxiCom, dating back more than two decades to my early career in London,” said Sullivan. “I am thrilled to be joining such an incredible global leadership team at such an important moment in AxiCom’s history. It’s an opportunity to help make a real difference for our people and our clients as we build the AxiCom brand and offering globally.”
