The role
AxiCom is looking for an Account Manager or Account Director with experience in cybersecurity to join our growing team. You’ll lead a portfolio of cybersecurity accounts and provide strategic media counsel to major brands addressing the cybersecurity landscape. You’ll bring a deep understanding of security media, a proven track record in crafting and securing top-tier media coverage in trade and national outlets, including broadcast, with a sharp, confident approach to client counsel and a commitment to nurturing and mentoring high-performing teams.
The work
- Provide strategic counsel across a portfolio of clients and show mastery of all aspects of client management
- Lead integrated media strategy development and program execution, including trade, national, and broadcast, as well as new media influencers
- Champion inventive thinking and exploring new approaches: encourage the free exchange of ideas and support the use of the agency’s creative resources
- Bring fresh, proactive thinking to create new campaigns and opportunities for clients
- Execute flawlessly on existing programs such as product launches, customer programs, tradeshows, and events
- Showcase a command of both digital and traditional communication practices and strategies
- Lead and mentor junior team members to build a culture of high-performance
- Develop and grow senior-level client relationships, act as the day-to-day point of contact
- Demonstrate expert understanding of client’s business, business plan, industry, trends, and competitive landscape
- Champion the agency’s culture by living up to AxiCom’s values and delivering above-level work
EXPERIENCE THAT CONTRIBUTES TO YOUR SUCCESS
- Knowledgeable of issues related to cybersecurity and privacy and demonstrate continued curiosity in emerging industry trends, thought leadership topics and breaking news
- Previous experience leading or working on cybersecurity account teams
- Seasoned writing skills: ability to write for senior-level management and audiences
- Excellent interpersonal skills, creative problem-solving skills, and strong strategic-thinking skills
- Ability to supervise and motivate account staff
- Proven relationships with security media
- Familiarity with emerging media outlets
- Strong project management skills
- Ability to develop and present new business pitches a plus
- (BONUS) Experience with analyst relations, influencer engagement and management, content campaign development, and media coverage amplification
The base salary for this position at the time of this posting may range from $60,000 to $140,000. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including location, business needs, level of responsibility, experience, and qualifications.
